4 Way Logistics – Full Truckload Services
A freight quote for truckload shipping, also known as full truckload (FTL or sometimes TL) shipping is typically priced by the mile, as this service usually gives you exclusive use of the flatbed or van, regardless of how full the trailer is. Truckload shipping can utilize van or flatbed trailers, depending on your shipment configuration. Often, truckload shippers contact truckload carriers even if the shipment in question does not fill an entire trailer. In those cases, 4 Way Logistics can negotiate with a carrier on your behalf for pricing on what’s called a “partial truckload.” Your partial truckload shipment can be priced well below FTL pricing.
We offer a wide array of freight shipping options, including various types of van trailers. We service most of these shipments, especially those comprising loose cartons or unitized or palletized freight, in a van trailer. Truckload service usually requires 48- or 53-foot trailers, although there are a wide variety trailer styles. We will often ask whether or not your palletized shipment can be stacked in a van trailer or not. This type of informational request can reduce your cost.
Some shipments require a flatbed trailer free of walls or ceiling constraints to expedite loading and unloading. We have a variety of flatbed trailers to accommodate almost any type of freight shipping. Flatbeds also serve the needs of customers trucking special equipment, a wide load, a long load, an oversized load, a heavy haul load or any other type of trucking that can legally move by highway in North America, and cannot move in a van.
